she's here!!!
I don't remember much as I was trying to keep my eyes closed, breathe, and scream all at the same time. I do remember her head showing and the doc saying that I will be putting bows in her hair soon. I think by the time I started yelling "I can't do this any more" she was just about ready to come out. Eric & Katie, the nurse, said I began pushing around 1:20 so I really didn't push that long. I can tell you the contractions where they wouldn't let me push were the worst part of it!
For nicknames, we will allow Kate, but that's really about it.
I know everyone is wanting to see pics, but we are having problems posting them to here, so we have a few on our website... http://www.thewaughs.org/ We'll try to get a few more up sometime tomorrow, but I can't promise what time. I need to sleep and I'm not sure how much I'll actually get tonight.
We thank everyone for the thoughts and prayers!!!
from the hospital
here Jenn is this morning:

Jenn had a few contractions on her own, but they really started coming regularly as soon as they started "the drip" (oxytocin) around 8:30. the Doc came to visit about 9:20 and broke her water. everything seems to be progressing nicely (4cm dilated, 75% effaced, +2cm station at 9:20). the Doc says to expect baby by dinner--"not a late dinner." her contractions are about 3-5 minutes apart. here are a couple:

my (Eric) parents are catching a plane from Atl at 11:10, and hope to be here sometime near when she's born. Jenn's parents are hanging out at the hospital with us.
we'll let you know when she's here!

that "i" word
I am having mixed thoughts about this, but really just want this little girl out and to be here!!! We would appreciate any prayers to have Broomhilda make her entrance on her own!!!

nope nothing
She mentioned the "induce" word. The earliest one of my doctor's would be available is June 30th. That is also my next appointment, if I make it that far. I am hoping that I go before that and they don't have to induce.
I'm just feeling tired. My stomach is tight right now, so maybe that's a contraction. It could be that Broomhilda is just moving too much and has stretched all the way out at the moment.
That's it for now. Hopefully a better update in the next couple of days!!
due date
I have a doc's appointment around noon so we'll see what she says today. They keep telling me I'm not going to make it to my next appointment. If they are to be right, Broomhilda has an hour and half to make an appearance. I don't see it happening.
I'll let everyone knows what comes of the doc's visit.

nursery is done!!!
It was originally supposed to come in a few weeks ago, which it did, but it came in damaged so they reordered it for us. It came in Thursday night. We recruited our friends Nick & Steph to help us pick it up and take it upstairs to the room. Nick has a truck and it wouldn't fit in the back of our SUV. It came preassembled and boxed (almost crated).
We hung up a couple of items on the walls. One is a picture that Eric's Aunt Nancy drew years ago and the other is a memory board that our friend Bethany did for the baby shower. Anyway... here's a few pictures of the finished product...
The curtains are green and purple stripped. Mom actually made them for us for our master bedoom in Ohio, but we had been using them in the guest room. We thought they were good colors for a baby's room. Plus the guest bed was moved to the "Tech" room and the curtains wouldn't match there anyway. We also thought the colors would be good to use with Tinker Bell once we move and are more permanent.
The futon is there just in case we need extra sleeping space or if I decide to nap in there with her at some point. The glider chair was our Christmas present from Eric's parents this past year.
Now it is just wait until she's here to use the room... and no I'm not sure if things are progressing yet or not. We'll see if I make it to my next doc's appointment on Tuesday.

thursday, june 19th
Nothing really new. I think I may have felt a real contraction last night, but not completely sure. She is still moving and still low.
Mom & Dad came in last night and plan on staying for a while after she gets here. Eric is getting anxious. I think we are going walking tonight if he gets his way. He asks her at night if she'll just hurry up and come. I think he is wanting a long weekend :) I don't blame him.
Today is also my fourth day of not working. Whoo hoo!! I am enjoying it. I cleaned the first two days. Yesterday the real estate agent came and took pictures in the morning and then I napped to a soccer game in the afternoon. Today we went to Walmart and then to Jake's for lunch.
Sorry. Nothing really interesting yet.

today's doc's visit
Her head is down. The doc is estimating 7 to 7.5 pounds. And once again she said something about not making it until next week's appointment, which is Tuesday morning and happens to be my due date. So we'll see. She gave me a few do's and don'ts to get this to go faster if I want. I told her I needed a few more days and then we would see.
Other than that, I'm just tired and trying to get a lot down around the house preparing for her arrival and to get the house in shape for the realtor to get the house on the market. So I'm glad that I have stopped working or I would be going crazy right now!!!
Oh, and I went to the DMV to have the car seat inspected. Don't get me started on that one. It is fine. We can bring her home when it is tme. But I may be buying the DMV a level.

one step closer (updated)
I have to go sometime this week to have it inspected, but right now it is all set. There is even a cabbage patch doll in there now just to make the pretending more realistic!!
I added this picture so you could see which (I have three) cabbage patch dolls were used... course, if she come out with that much hair, I may faint!!!

a week... he's kidding right???
The doc seems to think that since I was nothing two weeks ago, that I have about a week. He said to go ahead and make my next appointment, but don't be surprised if I don't make it. I told him not to worry, I planned on having at least a week left. He snickered a little. What does he know?!?!?!?!?
I told mom and she reminded me to keep my legs crossed for a few days until they would be able to get up here. So here is to waiting...

two weeks and counting
My last day of work is this Friday, and yes, I plan on making it the entire week, contrary to the beliefs of a few co-workers. I'm glad to be mostly a desk job right now. These close to 100 degree days are not fun. Makes me glad that even if I did have to go to my jobsite that it is all inside work these days.
Still nothing new with the nursery. I am going to work on it this weekend. We have everything with the exception of the dresser/changer. We ordered it on May 19th. It was supposed to take 7 to 10 business days to arrive. Well, it arrived.... damaged. So Babies-r-us sent it back and ordered another one which will again take 7 to 10 business days. If I remember right (and counted correctly) 10 business days is my due date. So our fathers may be switching out dressers. Right now her clean clothes are still in the laundry basket in our room b/c I didn't want to put them in the old dresser just to have to move them into the new dresser. Or it is just plain laziness.
Her bag is packed. My bag is at least in my closet. Nothing in it yet, but it is handy if I needed to throw things into it.
She is still a very active little one. Not as many little kicks, but a lot of sweeping moves. Eric likes the little movements though. I think she had a good round of them this morning. I slept through most of them, but I know Eric was feeling them.
So the days count down begins...

thoughts & fears
But my thoughts are turning into fears. What if something goes wrong??? What if I can't handle this? So do my twice-their-normal-size ankles mean I am getting toxemia?? Why haven't I felt her move (this is the weird one... I (my insides) may not feel her move, but then if I place a hand on my belly I can feel her then... is this normal????)? What happens if my water breaks while I am stuck in I-95 traffic?? Are my hips supposed to hurt this much? Why do I cry every morning in the shower?? Is that a contraction or do I just need to go to the bathroom? And why don't they make maternity t-shirts longer!!?!??!?!??!
I'm sure some of this is normal stuff, but I think I am starting to believe that something is going to go wrong which just turns me into a basket case and I have to blame the heat for my watering eyes. I strongly believe now that I most certainly got the worrying gene that plaques the women on Mom's side.
