a week... he's kidding right???

I had my weekly appointment this afternoon. The doctor's words, not mine: "How long have you been having contractions?" What!?!? What contractions???? Apparently I am having contractions and not realizing it. I am 2 cm and 50%. I am assuming the 50% is effaced. I've heard you can get "stuck" there for a while.

The doc seems to think that since I was nothing two weeks ago, that I have about a week. He said to go ahead and make my next appointment, but don't be surprised if I don't make it. I told him not to worry, I planned on having at least a week left. He snickered a little. What does he know?!?!?!?!?

I told mom and she reminded me to keep my legs crossed for a few days until they would be able to get up here. So here is to waiting...

How regular were your contractions? Did you have a stress test? Yay! I can't wait to see my twin's baby! (and my granddaughter...yeah...pretty messed up)

I have no idea. I didn't know I was having them. I'll have to pay more attention I guess.

No test yet. I'm not sure when that will happen.

We're just one big happy family!!!

Yeah, I had a stress test with Nathan at 34 weeks and my doctor came in and said "do you know that you're having contractions every minute and a half?" To which I responded "I didn't until you put me on this machine and I watched it...then I knew what to pay attention to." I hadn't had a clue before that. Isn't it funny how you think of contractions as this big painful thing, but you can walk around having them regularly for a while?

Don't worry about paying too much attention. When you really get close, you'll notice them. :) Unfortunately.

So...are you going for an epidural, natural, or somewhere in between? You don't have to answer that if you don't want, but I was just wondering.

How is Eric handling things? What is he doing to get ready?
