A few weeks ago on our way home from our weekend getaway in Elijay with Eric's family, we just happened to stop for lunch at the same exit as for Rock Eagle. I had never been and Eric hadn't been in a really long time. For those of you who have no idea what I am talking about, Rock Eagle is belived to be a ceramonial mound of prehistoric origin. The head is facing the east. It is 102 feet long, the wing span is 120 feet, and is 8 feet deep at the breast area. It is located at the Rock Eagle 4H camp in eastern Georgia just south of I-20.
Here are a few pics from our little adventure.
