August happenings so far

It is mid-August and we've been busy as usual. Well, not that busy, but still have done enough to show you some random photos.

We've been looking to get Kathryn a new pair of shoes. She was wearing a size 4 but we noticed that at least the right foot was getting tight and harder to put on. For the past few months anytime we have been in a shoe store we check to see if they have pink converse in her size and on sale. We had her feet measured and she needs a 4 1/2 but they don't make 1/2 sizes for toddlers so we had to look for 5's. Man she has big feet, must get that from me. NC had tax free weekend at the beginning of the month. We happened into Target that weekend and found a pair of 5's.

Usually whatever we are having for dinner I try to cut up into bite size pieces for Kathryn. This night we grilled out hamburgers, fixed baked beans and had potato chips. Kathryn only ate two or three bites and wanted down. Then she immediately kept saying "more" and wanting in my lap. Apparently, my full hamburger looked more appealing than her bites.

Here's a video of her enjoying it (ignore me trying to act like I'm not in the picture)...

Being pregnant, I was craving chocolate (maybe it wasn't a pregnant thing). I decided instead of just eating the chocolate chips out of the bag, I would make cookies.

This past weekend, Kathryn & I were invited up to South Dakota to go to the Turner County Fair. It was a family tradition that Kathryn needed in on. She loved the animals and the funnel cake. Here she is on some tractors.

Needless to say, after getting up after less than 6 hours of sleep to fly home from SD and be back in Fayetteville by 12:30, we were pretty tired. Kathryn & I were playing in her room...
What this picture doesn't show you is what is missing. See that big open space in the middle of the floor?? That is where I feel asleep first. Mommy was tired. But the quietness woke me up.
