counting down the weeks

In case you haven't heard, Kathryn will be a big sister in mid-February (docs are saying the 11th... makes my Dad happy as that is his & Aunt Cindy's birthdays). The doc said I am 13 weeks & 4 days.

I finally got to an OB this morning. Long story... I was fine with letting our family doctor handle things until I told them I have this huge fibroid on the outside of my uterus. They said, sorry, you are going to an OB. After waiting three weeks for them to make me a referral, I said never mind, I'll do it myself. One of Eric's co-workers recommended the OB I went to this morning. Even with calling them and telling them that I was 10 weeks already, they couldn't get me in for over three weeks. I've been all tied up in knots worrying about everything until this morning.

Apparently it is standard practice to an ultrasound early on to get an accurate sizing of the baby, so we got pictures. They'll do the "standard" one at my next appointment. I guess that is the good thing about going in later than I should have... I only have to wait four more weeks to find out if it is a boy or girl. We're praying for a little boy, but we'll be happy with a healthy baby! :)

I get to have an early glucose test next time also since Kathryn was over 8 pounds. Oh and back to the fibroid. Yep it is still there. The tech didn't tell us how big it was, but from what I saw, it is still a good size. Actually I take that back. The one point she measured was about 4 cm. So it is a decent size at this point. But they will monitor it which means a few more ultrasounds.

Baby #2

Heartbeat of baby #2

If you want to know more, let me know. Sorry we didn't say anything for a while. I was mainly in denial that this was happening so fast and also really worried that something was wrong until I made it to the doctor. Okay now that I have heard & seen the baby I can be excited!! Yay!!!! There's another baby coming!!! Oh, please start praying now for patience for me!
