sunburns, ears, pillows & milk

Instead of doing a few different posts, I decided that you get a lot of information all at once. These things are unrelated, but all happened since Sunday, and it is only Tuesday morning.

KATHRYN'S FIRST SUNBURN
On Sunday we had a cookout with our small group from church. I had Kathryn in one of those onesies that looks like a dress & is sleeveless. I thought I had her in the shade the whole time, but I guess the little bit of running around was enough to get her little shoulders. It didn't seem to phase her. You may have to click on the picture to enlarge it to see the sunburn. Next time I'll do sunscreen. I'm sure this is the first of many to come. Now let's see if freckles show up! Oh yeah... and she does not like grass.

DOCTOR'S VISIT
Kathryn had her ears & weight checked yesterday. Her ears look wonderful. I also learned that her right ear drum reflects the light in a different "normal" spot that where they usually look. Good to know for future if she sees another doctor.

She also gained 10 ounces in the past month. Still not quite to 20 pounds yet, but she is getting there. The doc said since she gained weight, that was good and they shouldn't been concerned anymore but they will double check at her One Year visit in a couple of weeks. I think we should buy stock in the docs.

MOMMY GOT DOMESTICATED
Kathryn & I went to JoAnn's & Michael's yesterday after her doctor's appointment. JoAnn's had fabric on sale. I found a few that I thought she would like, held them up for her, and she picked the monkeys. Doesn't surprise me at all. I had these pillows since Ohio I think and just never covered them. I wanted them to have dangles because she carries the pillows that Edwina made for us around by the fringe on them. The fabric was on sale for less than $3 a yard and I was able to use a 50% off coupon on the pink dangly stuff.

I also picked up at Michael's three wood animal cut outs that were already painted and embellished with felt for $0.59 each. Delaware businesses like to give their business cards away attached to magnets. This was great when we were there, but I have a few that I don't need any more. I cut one into three pieces and super glued the magnets to the back of the animals. She seems to like them. Sorry I didn't get a picture of them yet. There is a tiger, zebra and pink flamingo.

YUMMY MILK!
We have been trying to get Kathryn transitioned to whole milk for a couple of reasons. I have two sippy cups that only get milk in them. The others get juice or water, or usually some combination of the two.

Last night we figured out the best way to get her to drink more than just an ounce or two at a time. Just not a practical way.

AND ONLY TWO WEEKS UNTIL OUR LITTLE GAL TURNS ONE!!!!!!
