since she's supposed to wear it constantly unless we're changing her diaper, she got her first at-home bath before we put it on. here are a couple pics:
i was expecting the biliblanket thing to be much much worse. Kathryn actually did really well with it. she slept much better last night than her first night home. maybe she's just used to the place now, or maybe the noise from the light machine was calming. she slept from about 2am to 7am! (mommy loved that.)
here's a picture of our little glow worm:
notice the fuzzy clean hair! (she takes after daddy on that.)
the nurse is suppose to visit us today to take some blood so they can monitor her bilirubin level to make sure it's going down. we hope to get her off the machine as quickly as possible. even if she seems to like it (or at least not dis-like it), i'm sure it will get in the way sooner or later since it severely limits her mobility. stay tuned for more updates.
p.s. i also hope to post more pictures today at our website, http://www.thewaughs.org/.

I hope it she gets over the jaundice quickly! Both our boys had mild jaundice that we had to go to the Dr for several days to keep checking. I'm glad your area uses the blankets though. Our area has gone away from that and hospitalize jaundiced babies instead. So I'm thankful you are able to treat her at home:-) Also, what a praise about 5 hours of sleep!! What a good baby...
I've never heard of a blanket like that. It's pretty neat! I'm so glad that they have something you can use at home.
How is she doing?
