Happy Easter!

I made the kids Easter baskets.  Don't be too impressed, they are three inch cubes made from paper and Andrew has already torn his handle off.  We went very simple... Rice Krispy Treats, Hershey bars, and a Strawberry Shortcake doll for K and red balls for A.

Didn't even buy "Easter outfits".  Kathryn's dress is the one she picked out from the consignment sale.  Andrew wore consignment shorts and cousin Caleb's shirt & vest.

They were too excited to play outside after church so this is the best picture I got of them.  We ate Mexican for lunch and both kids fell asleep before we got out of the parking lot.  Eric & I are going to watch the new Narnia movie while they sleep.

Happy Easter!

1 Peter 1:3-5 NASB
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,  to  obtain  an inheritance  which is  imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you,  who are protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

New park time!

We had a few errands to run this morning.  I decided to stop at the Hope Mills Park.  We've been here three years and had never been.  The kids at a blast.  There are three play set areas and swings.  I don't care for the sand, but it cleans up.

Ain't that the truth!

From Parents January 2010, section "as they grow:  2-3 years":

When your child hits these years, his [her] behavior may become something of a challenge -- no matter what his temperament.  Kids this age can be demanding, cranky, and exhausting... So be prepared for meltdowns and bratty behavior and keep your cool; if you're tense, your kid will pick up on it and get more riled up.

Everyone has told me this, but for some reason seeing it in writing kind of hit me over the head.

As I am typing this, Kathryn is singing Old MacDonald at the top of her lungs and jumping on the trampoline all while also yelling no to Andrew because he found her sippy cup.  Keep cool Mommy, just keep cool.

Craft time is quiet time

Craft time can be surprisingly quiet.  Today Kathryn is painting, Andrew is playing with his hammer & peg set, and Mommy is coloring.  We are all sitting and playing.  It is very relaxing :)
Update:  when going to change Andrew's diaper it is a good idea not to leave the paint bottles sitting on the table.  You may come back to find half the paint that was in the bottle now on the table.  And a little girl with red hands.

A beautiful Sunday

After a few days of rain and chilly temperatures, it is beautiful today!  70, a slight breeze and not a cloud to be seen.  Kathryn was full of energy (and green snot) and we had not been out yet today.  Daddy took the kids out back to play.
